These are always original Epson cartridges containing Ultrachrome HDX/HD inks whose reputation for quality is no longer to be made. The only difference between these two generations is the presence of a new chip free from ILS (Ink Level Sensor). In the absence of this element serving to accurately count the number of ml used, the consumption will be calculated/estimated according to the printing modes and will then be recorded in the new chip.To use these new cartridges, or a mixed of cartridges with and without ILS, it is necessary to make an update of the firmware of the printer. It is therefore important to keep the firmware version available on the Epson website. Please refer to the documentation included in the carton of each new generation cartridge.
