The burner and base fit a standard 16.4 oz propane gas cylinder. Medium weight stainless steel and lighter 10″ skillets and saucepans up to 8″ are recommend. Adjust the height of the flame on the burner plate just like you as would a gas stove burner for flexibility for cooking a wide variety of tasty meals while on the trail. This burner puts out 10,000 BTU, comparable to leading brands’ similar products. The feet of this model extend outward for extra stability. The burner plate is similar to a home burner plate. Support arms’ notching helps prevent slippage without scratching cookware. Other brands have deep notching, which can cause damage. This stove can be used for about 2 hours on the highest flame with a standard 1 lb pound tank. As with all propane cooking devices, do not use indoors or in locations with poor ventilation.
